I use allergy/dust mite pillow protectors, so I think that prevents them from flattening as quickly. I just fluff them up every now and then, maybe once a week or less and they're good to go. I love these pillows!

When I first received them they had an odor for the first 3-5 days and customer service stated that because they are filled with animal feathers they often have an odor. They are fine now and I enjoy the comfort.
